no it didn't hurt the cases. i will try to post pics later thought. i was wondering about welding the splines back in and then cutting new ones. but i don't know if the welds would hold??

You must be talking about the splines on the sprocket. Don't weld it just replace it!

I have seen this before.. Infact, I did it recently on our little Z50.. ;-) But 200+lbs stunting down the road didn't help that either...

you talking about the inner slines of the front sprocket, or the outers on the shaft?

kix500:
the outer splines on the shaft are gone. it spun inside the sprocket and stripped off the splines so the shaft needs to be replaced.
