Reed Valve

I took apart my reed cage but didn't take note of which way the arrow on the cage points I'm guessing its up?

 I bought my 04 kx 500 new and it has never been apart before. The arrow was pointing down  when I took it apart.   Seems to me it should have been pointing up.

I was wrong it should point down.
