Boyesen Reed Block
« on: March 14, 2007, 01:44:26 PM »
Does anybody know what kind of results I can expect from installing a Boyesen reed block in my 1990 KX 250?  I've heard good things and I got one that came with a parts bike I bought.  Also, what kind of reeds would you recommend.  I mostly ride for fun like in fields (doing wheelies and endos and such and I'm looking for as smooth a power delivery as i can get) with the occasional track day.  I also wanted to ask if something was suppose to come off of it or not.  The bottom piece that sits below the reed itself came off one side and i took the other one off, are those supposed to be attached to the block with adhesive or not?  Should I attach them back?  If so, what should I use?  Thanks guys

Assuming you mean the "Rad Valve"?? I wouldn't expect smooth power, it will make it more sharp up top..

Hey guys, I just wanted to update about my Boyesen install.  Everything went pretty smooth and it has actually done what I hoped, the power delivery is much smoother through the midrange than it was before.  I'm hoping once I get it re-jetted it will be completely spot on.
