Can anyone get their hands on a top end rebuild kit including gaskets.  I have searched for weeks and cant find a piston for an 87.  PLease help

I thought you was going to use the 88-04 piston kit???????? What happen?  :? Dude am telling you that they will work just fine same piston skirt profile but a second ring added. My 87 runs great with the newer pistons. If Kawasaki doesn't offer the stock 87 than you will have no choice but the use the new pistons or watch e-bay for some old dealer stock.
