--- Quote from: hughes ---Thanks for the info guy's. After looking at these light coils I am wondering where they mount. I have two ignition coils know on my stator plate. Does the lighting coil go in between the other two? Do I need to drill and tap some holes on the stator plate?

Hughes, I have some bad news: Your coil will not accept a lighting coil. It uses both coils to know when to generate a spark and for timing. It is not possible that I, or anybody else knows. The good news is: (not Geico) according to KXTaz (an older member here), he had an '87 and he got 'er done by purchasing a '90+ ignition system (stator, plate, flywheel, coil, cdi (ect ect) (they changed drematicly from '90 and up) it will work. That is what he did.

If you are intrested, I switched to PVL a year back and won't go back stock, so I have an entire system if you are intrested. It is swapable without any issues.

Find KXTaz's post.

Thanks Guy's for all the info. Gowen how much do you need for the ignition system? I am still putting my bike back together right now. But I might add a ligthing number plate up front after I get her back up and running. Thanks Again Guy's.

Just pay shipping and take it off my hands. It needs some cleaning up as it has been laying around the garage, but it has a new stator on it (read the jetting thread). Consider making your own lighting coil. Rick has an article aobut making his own. Good read. PM me if you want the system.

hughes:
Done Deal.
