Top end pipe for Kx500
doordie:
Works pipes always more power, thinner but fragile.
A stock pipe, shortened, will give you same/more topend than FMF/PC and you save money.

hughes:
For a short pipe try a Pro Circuit 87 kx500 pipe. My 87 Pro Circuit pipe is shorter than the 88- newer kx500 pipes. 88-and newer pipes curve around by the ignition cover but mine does not.

Man knows his stuff. FMF Desert and Rad Valve. You can not go wrong with this combo due to the impressive top-end. Have you tried the PVL yet? You have that big-ass pipe on your KX don;t you? Are you thinking of selling it?
doordie:
Hughes,
It?s because K5 of 87 have a different barell with another exhaust- portduration.
But it fits nice! 8)

Yes i have CPI pipe right now on my bike and i want to make some new setup to compare and see what will work best for me.
I ordered a custome shearer pipe like thats one for my honda and i lost the top end on my bike it will die when i sheft it to 5th gear on hill racing..trying diffrent gearing but the gain= low speed than b4 so i switched back to FMF on the honda.
On my Kx500 i never shift to the 5th gear on the hill racing even with 13 in front so i always leave it in 4th gear(but don't worry i beat all the honda guys on the race) so i'm thinking now to try Pro Circut or FMF and see if it will help me at the top end like what happened to the CR500
