tight woods gearing
Rick:
Wait until your kid asks to ride your 500, makes you feel old. My 13 year old likes to tear it up on my 500 while I "hold" his 125 (just too much clutch work for me to want to ride). At 155 pounds, he has touble keeping the front wheel on the ground no matter what the gearing, but still loves the power. I have been trying to talk him into jumping to the 500 and race the Open expert class instead of the 125 expert next year, but he still says he wants a 250 next year.
When you can ride a 500 with alllllll that power, why would anyone ever choose anything else? Might it be that some are a little short in the manly department?

Now there's a question for that old bearded man on top of the mountain!
yzmike:
EZ RIDER has it dialed in.
tomasaki:
I use 13:47. I just changed the stock 14 because I had a 13 on hand, so it didn't cost anything. As soon as the stock chain or stock rear sprocket goes, I'm going to 13:52 for the low 1st gear. It makes the tight stuff easier and saves the clutch. It also makes the chain and sprockets last alot longer.
