I just got off the phone with Pete Russel.  He is also making a mid valve to complement the base valve. Prices he quoted me (Mar 08/06) were:

Base valve: $280 USD
Mid Valve:   $179 USD

He says the valves are available direct from him, just phone.   Cam.
