Anyone know how a K&N filter is on the K5
Torch654:
I think the advanage (if it works well) would be not haveing to clean and oil your fillter.
hughes:
So it's a paper element filter and not foam. Use air hose to clean it out.

I've used K&N filters lots in all sorts of vehicles except for offroad m/cycles. They are very good but I think (depending on your conditions) Twin air or the like would be a better bet for breathability. Could imagine the K&N getting a little cloged after 10,000 miles or so of use offroad. They are harder to clean out cause of the design. You have to buy special cleaning fluid and then reoil with proper K&N oil.
Just 0.02c worth.
Torch654:
Thanks, I had in mind cleaning it more than 10,000
hughes:
I will just stick with my twin air. I clean it every two rides with pj1 filter cleaner and oil it with yamaha's blue filter oil. While we are on filters how often does everybody clean theirs :?: :?: :?:
