KX500 Frame gussets

Hello all, I've read with much interest the posts regarding adding extra gussets to strengthen the K5 frame.  I'm going to make the plates to do it in the next day or so but I'd like to know how thick the plates need to do, I'm feeling 3mm thick .... what's your thoughts please.
I'm also going to weld on small bash plate tabs. My son is going to make some real nice bash plates, similar to the Works connection ones but will extend further to protect the water pump side.

3mm high tensile will be fine.

Yep.. we make them from 2.5mm so 3mm will work good.
