Hard to start K5

 I have been reading posts and using search function about hard to start K5's , Obviously, I am here because the one I just purchased is hard to start or won't start. I read everyone says jetting, I have to clean carb anyway, The fuel smelled like varnish, figured while I am in there I would double-check correct jetting, I downloaded chart and will not open. is that me or chart link dead?

I do have good spark, figured I would start with fuel, carb and compression then timing

I  think I may just be a big pussy and can't kick it hard enough! LOL

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated !!
