A good rear shock to race a '84 KX500, or a place familiar with '83/'84/'85 Uni

Can anyone recommend a brand of rear shock, ….. people using to race the '83/'84/'85 500 bike?
Also a better/new carb. ….one that has a idle stop screw , (unlike the OEM flatslide).

32 views and nobody knows of a shock that works well replacing the stock one? Is this ‘83-‘84 Uni-Trac such a rare bike?

Most of the guys on here have newer model bikes, which may explain the lack of answers.  Also the air-cooled bikes weren't as popular and there just isn't as much being done with them in the aftermarket.  I would be patient, I'm sure someone on this site has done this before. 

Just for future reference the view counts include hits from not just members, but visitors and search engines as well.
