Been reading the forum for a few weeks now.  Lots of great info.  Sold my 97 K5 a few years ago.  Big mistake! I am from Calgary. Looking for a K5 for a woods machine.  Anyone thinking of selling their bike this spring and live around Calgary let me know.

Cheers: Dave

Dave,
Check the buy&sells around Calgary & Edmonton & Vancouver.  There is usually a few KX500 around.  I used to race at Blackfoot. Not sure if it's still there. Welcome to the site. Cam.

Welcome Dave, Hope you find another bike soon. I use my KX500 in the tight single tracks a lot, I am guessing you have great trails near Calgary.

Yah, lots of good riding in the mountains.  The power of the 500 really shines.  Do they still have the Drag Strip in Sparta.  Used to race there in the late eighties and early nineties.

There are several motocross areas nearby, Bridgeton is probably the largest, it has a hillclimb hill called "the wall" ,flattrack, motocross track, stadium track and dragstrip. Big Air motocross track is nearby and so is Grattan Motocross track. There used to be a quite famous ( at least locally ) motocross track called Egypt Valley but that is gone now. The Silver Lake Sand Dunes also has a drag strip.
I am not aware of a drag strip in Sparta, but I have only been here about 10 years. I will ask some of the old riders if they remember one.

Actually the drag strip was in Ubly.  Just north of Sparta.
