Got a K5 and now....

Well I picked up a 2000 KX500 that was in good shape.  I had the plans to make it street legal.    Now after looking at some other bikes.  I am not sure if I should move forward.  The bike has clean paperwork, just no official title yet.  I have the vin inspected and all to docs.  I am just not sure if I want to get it fixed up VS buying something ready to go.
