Parts compatibility between different year KX500 models

As parts are becoming harder to get for my 1987 KX500. Is there a way to see if parts from different year parts will fit my bike? For example the Kick start assy part #13064-1130 is almost impossible to find. Is there another year model #13064 that will fit the 1987 model? Is there a way to find out?

I would start here.  Sandblaster was nice enough to compile this awesome reference list that shows what parts fit what models.  He's also a great source of parts if you need something for your bike.

You're welcome, glad to help.  If you come across a part that the list is vague on, be sure to ask the group.  The responses can take a little bit of time, but you usually get a really good answer.

the newer year kicker, part #13064-1201 will work on your '87....when mine busted on my '95, I borrowed my buddies '87 kicker for a couple days, and it fit perfectly.
