I'm running 18 rear wheel. These rims on my 87 are very heavy without tire and tube. I think my older rims maybe a little more heavy duty then the new ones. I will play with tire psi this weekend. A lot of my time is spent in grass tracks. My local track has miles of grass before you hit the woods. Is there any tire that likes grass. The grass lanes are bush hogged and that leaves a thick layer of copped grass on top. Makes thing slick.

Yep. The maxxis IT are gone after I wear them out. My dirt is more hard packed. I tried 11 psi things are alittle better but it still does hold that good on flat turns. Steve Hatch runs Kenda carlsbad tires every where he races. Anybody tried these :?:
hoopty:
I've run those as well, just buy an S12 for the front and an M12 for the rear and you'll be much happier. No way your ground is harder than what I ride on here in Patagonia, AZ.

I have been running the same tire pressure for years in the desert sands in El Paso! I run 6 in the rear and 9 in the front! Really easy to remembers! I wish I had another 18 inch rear, because would run Cheng Shin 560X18 like I had on my YZ490. May be one of these days I will find another 18 inch rear wheel on E-Bay. I like a narrow soft terrain tire in the front, not sure what I am running right now!
Alan :)
