Hey guy's. Got the 500 back out today for about hour 1/2 ride and I noticed that the back end seems to fish tail as I'm ripping the gear box most 2nd and 3rd. I bought a 110 rear first mistake. it's a maxxis IT. The land has about 1 inch of loom before you hit hard pack. I think this is what caused me to hit the ground yesterday when the back tire fell into a rut I was running along side of. Would a 120 rear help :?: I like the maxxis tire I can not wear this tire out. Would set up have anything to do with it :?: Not sure if I want a flywheel weight for an 87 they only make a 16oz. All suspension bearings are new. Help Help Help.

Improper sag setting will hurt traction, the Maxxis I/T is a good tire, not great. I ran the Maxxis and hated it until I got the airpressure down to ~ 11psi. You'll get better bite with a Michellin M12 and almost the same lifespan.

hughes:
I got the sag set but need to check one more time. I have been running 14 psi I am going to lower it for next ride.

KXcam22:
Hughes,
On other bikes I ran 10PSI.  I find my KX rims are too soft to run anything less than 14 without denting the rims badly.  If you are fishtailing, the Maxxis IT may not be the right tire for your type of dirt.  The 120 will help but is only marginally bigger so is not the entire answer.  Throttle control too. Hope this helps. Cam.

hoopty:
You guys don't still have the 19" rear do you? I run a 120/100X18 ~ 11PSI and I don't dent my rims at all.
