How many scopes on paddle

(1/2) > >>

afritts4u:
About to buy a new paddle for my K5. I Ran a old 8 paddle with about half the original scoop height left and was not real happy.  I have a 18" rear rim and was wondering if I should go 8, 10  or more scoops. I do more than just drag race too so don't want to scrafice handaling too much.

hoopty:
Cheng Shin 5.60 X 18 X 10 blade

Arigato:
Sand Snake 8 paddle.  You'll get good handlling with good hook-up.

GDubb:
Dont run anything less than a 10 on the 500. I run an AMS Sand Snake MX 10-cup on my 19 inch rear.   I've heard of people ripping off the paddles of an 8-cup on the 500, but have never tried an 8 on anything other than a 250 myself.   You can check out my bike with the paddle tire in the gallery.  Look for 25 on the number plate.

I got a 10 Paddle but it would not fit with the chain length I had to work with. Took it back and got a Chi Shing 8 paddle. I was not happy with my decision. The traction is good, the flotation is bad. I think a 19" Rear with a 10 would be ideal. The 8 Paddle did good enough to catch some air though. CHeck out the gallery on page 6 (the video) :(
