I like the big wide strap...mine uses two narrower rubber encased straps so that both mounts are used....

it would be a good idea to wrap the silencer with black electrical tape or something similar where the strap goes around it...because sand/dirt will get in behind there, and the strap will wear into the carbon fiber....I found this out just a couple weeks ago when I pulled my bike apart to do linkage/shock bearings.

it's a '99-'02 KX250 rear fender....with an '03 front fender...this is how it looks as of now...

here's the thread for modifying the rear fenders...choice of '92-'93 KX250 rear, or the '99-'02 KX250...I myself like the '99-'02 better...other members have even used an '05 rear.
