Rear fender

I am looking at getting black plastic and I saw some pictures of guys with 250 style rear fenders. I want that look. I have a '99 500 and would like to know what year 250 rear might work. I realize I will have to do some mod work to make one fit.

Sorry for being stupid here, I just needed to look a few posts lower. Give me a chance I can be teached!!

'93. It takes some trimming.

Hello.  I am doing the same thing here.
I cut the plastic for the exhaust.  No problem.
So, what is the next mod?  Should/Can I keep the new fender's side mounting holes or do they have to be moved to accomodate the forward mounting positions (near the airbox).
Thanks.
Kevin

Arigato:
Trim the front of the fender so it clears the airbox, elongate the front holes and bolt it in up front. You will have to trim the left rear area next to the bolt hole to clear the sub-frame, then mock it up and re-drill the rear holes.  After that, you need to trim the two wedge shaped extrusions that block the seat from coming all the way down.

Arigato,
Thanks!  I was well, on my way last night, then I saw this little piece of plastic I wanted to trim (about a 1/8 of an inch thick). Nice new box cutter blade installed.  I was careful at all the other times while cutting...but, not for that little piece..Box cutter in right hand..cut that piece alright..and continued onto my left thumb.  1" gash (almost to the bone) and two stitches later..I don't think I will make it to my Enduro this weekend. :(
Oh well.  Don't rush even the little things. Almost had the makings of Wendy's chili (well not that bad).  Careful out there.
