Source for Rebuilt Crank, exchange basis?
IridiumRed:
Well, can't you buy aftermarket rods?
Wouldn't welding the center pin to the crank throws make it impossible to disassemble the crank to replace the rod/rod bearing? Of course, perhaps i'm wrong on whats being welded.... or what you can replace on these cranks......
Arigato:
No one makes rods that I know of.
hughes:
You can get rod kits. IMS makes rods and so does wiseco. midwestactioncycle.com offers rod rebuild kits. Comes with rod, crank pin bearing, crank pin and thrust washers and wrist pin bearing $84.95. The best thing might be to just replace crank bearings and buy a rod rebuild kit and get the bike back up and running. I don't but is a balanced crank worth the crap to go through and money involed.
mikesmith:
If you like to rev it it is,as long as its apart Id get the crank trued.
moburki:
What are some good true and balance shops for KX5 cranks? Need to do an overhaul, want to do everything I can while its apart. Can't do cranks..
