Clutch Springs
hughes:
What benifit is there by using the heavy duty springs vers. standard clutch springs :?: I hope is doesn't seem dumb but I need to know.
Arigato:
The heavier springs fade less under the heat and stress the 500 loads onto it. They do make the pull at the lever a bit heavier, but you really don't need to use the clutch a lot on a properly tuned 5 hundy.
Timbowe:
Yeah once you get a bit of riding time in, you can judge engine speeds and just flick through the box with out the assistance of the clutch. No probs. Heavy spring are probably more for the motards or hotted motors that are developing a heap more torque. With decent plates theres no reason for uprated springs on a stock or close to it engine. 8)
hughes:
Not sure what springs are in my 500 but I have heavy clutch pull. I ride some off road and some track but I am not a pro rider you think I could get by with standard springs :?: I have tried cable routing to for the clutch pull but I could not tell much diff. Has anybody used the easy clutch adapter :?: It connects between your clutch perch and clutch cable. they say it will increase lever ratio and eases pull.
Arigato:
Do you keep the cable well lubed?
