Gap between seat and air box.

Ive only gotten one ride on my KX5 so far, but Cams idea sounds pretty genius especially with how much mud I had to scrub out of my airbox before I even got to ride the darn thing! I'm glad someone started this post cause I just figured I'd have to scrub out the airbox often and clean my airfilters religiously. Duct taping the gaps sounds much better!

Here's a pic of my solution. In the old days (mid-70's) this was a typical thing to do on any dirt bike. The duct tape may look a bit ratty but it has been on the KX for 12 years. Hope this helps. Cam.

Did you cut any of the top half of your air box off. My 87 air box is completely coved on top and has a open at the end near the tank. Look at my gallery page 3 last picture and you can see my air box.
