1992 kx500 lower fork guard options

(1/1)

motox909:
lost a fork guard this weekend and looked for aftermarket on the sites but they don't list any guards earlier than 94.  I don't want to buy OEM if I can do a little better...it would be good to have a wider (wrap around) style.

I see UFO has a set but it looks like OEM.
I looked at Polysport and Acerbis but they are for a 94. Will it fit? is there a wrap around style that is better?

DoldGuy:
The 94 guards have an extra bolt on the side of the lower portion of the guard, you can just leave as is or simply take a blade to remove the extra part of the guard.

The 94 & Up style offers much more protection for the tubes too.... :-D

I bought the polysport guards for a 94.  they bolt on with no problems, I also made a slot at the top of the guard on the brake line side and fitted the brake line in.  1 zip tie and the brake line stays in place.

thanks for the replys
