Help with spark arrester

(1/1)

reklessj:
So I bought a Answer spark arrester off eBay and want to repack it.
Problem: it has Allen screws on tip side and one bolt and rivets on pipe side. Took out all screws and bolt and can not get it apart for the life of me!
Question: Do I need to drill out the rivets to get it apart?
Please help this idiot, I'm about to give up but I Dont want to be irresponsible it is to d**n dry in so cal!!

bleeding green:
if you are trying to pull out the pipe side to repack then all of the fasteners need to come out. so yes, start drilling

I haven't used an Answer silencer since the mid 80's, but yeah...it was the only silencer I ever had that I had to drill out rivets, and re-rivet together to re-pack. Then after a couple times, I smartened up and used screws instead of rivets.

I was actually pullin from the tip side (that was unscrewed without rivets) and couldn't get it to budge, so Iwill just drill the thing out!
