2000 KX500 rebuild
ToomanyKaws:
Decided to rebuild my Team Green bike with a fresh engine and powdercoated frame. So I borrowed the engine from it, for my 2000 spare chassis. Did a little welding, steering damper mount and painted it. Just a beater 500 it will be.
When I first got this bike, just wanted the engine for my AF, but it came with a Clarke desert tank. Procircuit dogbones. PC Works pipe. Using that on my other bike. PC rear shock. New Moose rims on stock hubs. Put those on my other 500.
Not alot of hours on it but had a few stress cracks. Rebuilt the entire rear linkage and swingwarm. Leaving the rear subframe as raw alum. Stripping it now. Have a new set of UFO plastics for it. Should be about done this week.
Good enough to beat up in the desert out here.

Lookin great.
Can you post pics of your Team Green rads?
ToomanyKaws:
Those radiators are a little beat up. They don't leak so still using them. Nothing special. Look just like all the other factory K5 desert bikes I have seen. Using OEM radiators on this build.
ToomanyKaws:
Worked on the 2000 K5 a bit more.

Looks great!
Thanks for posting the pics.
