KX250 2007 Project
« on: June 09, 2013, 01:31:26 AM »
So, I started with a fresh (for her age) KX with only 13 hours on it. The goal is to have a bike that is just as fast and goodlooking in the pits as it on the track. And after seeing the 2stroke bike that Kawasaki buildt for Villopoto a couple years ago I know in what direction to go :)

First off I sent the engine to my motorguy to have it torn apart for complete overhaul and some extra power.
And of course, a fast engine is worth nothing if the suspension is not up for the job, so my friend at Enzo Sweden have set me up with correct setting and springs.
Frame and swingarm was powdercoated for that showroom shine.
FMF system
V-force3
Some carbon stuff and other bits and pieces for works look :)

Now Im waiting for the decals and the PC linkage arm to arrive for the first ride next weekend.

Welcome to the site. Lots of info and good people on here.

Bike was in pretty good shape before. I like the look better now though. Good job.

Cheers

It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.

Looks amazing man I'm jealous!! I'm also rebuilding my bike but I'm stuck, can't seem to find a subframe for it. I ordered one from AC racing and got an email back a week later saying they're out of stock and they refunded me my money, total bummer! If you have any advice or tips for a fellow 07 KX250 rebuilder I'd gladly listen!

Sweet machine!
Keep the pics and details coming...
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

I highly recommend 21.5mm offset triple clamps from Applied Racing, makes the bike turn much better, eliminates the front end washout common to the 05-07 models

Hi again guys!
So, now I have been riding it for about 10h. And man, the vibration kills my hands :) But as I am NOT in shape I can not cry too much about it :D I still ordered the FAST anti-vibration inserts, looking forward too installing them!
Im also waiting for the Boysen Power wing. Hoping that it will give a little bit more grount off the bottom.
But the biggest "mod" for the performance Im problebly doing this winter, and that is losing some beerbelly haha. At 112kg/246lbs right now the poor bike has too really work!

mbrouk: Thanks man! Hope your build has gone forward or is ready! As I didnt ride it before I did all my mods, I cant really tell what to do. But I did try try 51 and 52 rear sprocket. And for me and the tracks I ride, the 52 works the best. And be in shape haha :)

sandblaster: Gotta love a smoker :) Thanks!

joko: I have looked at it, but it was a bit to expensive at time. I´ve got the Pro Circuit linkage arm and also changing the fork height depending on the track. And it has been working great.

Even a fat guy can make a good start against the 450s sometimes on the little twostroker  :-D (on the inside)
