Aftermarket Fuel Tanks

I need a new fuel tank for my rebuild. The oem one is on backorder and I have a feeling there is a chance it may be discontinued. I am building a SX style bike for MX and SX to ride in socal on mostly SX and MX tracks.

The one below is the lowest capacity I could find. I don't need anything more than stock, but no one makes 2.1 gallon tanks for this bike except the manufacturer. I realize this is not meant for MX and SX, but I don't really have any other options.

What do you guys think? I think it might look cool with my white frame, swing arm, hubs and triple clamps, but I'm not crazy about what these tanks do to the seats. Simply put, this is by no means my first choice but could possibly be an interesting route to take. Any opinions?

You won't need a 3.1 gallon tank for most of what you're going to be doing. In fact, you might be surprised by how far the stock 2.25 gallon tank will take you. It does, however, look like IMS adds most of the capacity on the underside of that tank, so it might not feel all that bulky. Looks like it bulges up a little higher in the front, though.

I wish IMS made a stock-capacity translucent tank, as it's difficult to see how much fuel you've put in the stock black tank until you overfill and make a mess.

If you really want to add some "wow" factor you might get a custom aluminum tank made. I'm not sure who to recommend, though.

I know I don't need that high capacity of a tank. Yes this is the least bulky looking one I've found. I hate what it does to the seat where it bulges up in front.

I wish they made stock capacity tanks period in any color.

Looks awesome. I bet they would be expensive for this bike especially.
