Fork oil????

I have a 2002 KX500 and I just replaced the fork seals.
Is there an amount of oil to put in or do I have to measure from the top to get it right?
My forks are dry as they were takin apart for a week. It would make it real easy on me to just dump the oil in and go.
Im a 200lb guy. and like to hill climb and trail ride. this bike will never see the track with me on it.
What oil would you use to make this a  nice riding bike?
