Stealthy Flywheel Weight Removal
heavyweight44:
I am trying to take off the flywheel-Stator on my 1997, and that Nut is not budging. PUTTING lots of torque on it any suggestions?
alward25:
Have you loosened the little Allen head set screws on the outer diameter? It is not LH thread, it threads on in replacement of the nut. Do you have the spanner? Mine was a pain to get off too. I think I ended up holding the flywheel with a strap wrench. Make sure the blots for the spanner are not too long too.
sandblaster:
Impact wrench and heat.

i made a little tool with 2 studs that fit into the face holes on the flywheel to hold it. a strap wrench tried to fly out of my hand and smack me in the face, and the clutch/flywheel tool i had, while nice, didnt fit the shallow grooves on the outside of the flywheel well and looked like they would slip right out.
+ an impact wrench on low setting and spun right off.
edit: sorry just noticed you have the Stealthy version. dont know if it has the front holes you could grab onto like the stock flywheel.

You will also need to lock up the engine with on of toes tools that thread down te spark plug hole.
