KX500 Weak Sub-Frames
« on: May 06, 2013, 05:13:54 AM »
Hey everyone, I am new to this forum... and was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting in a group buy to get chromoly steel subframes made for a KX500. I just talked to a professional fabricator "Johnny, True Torch" in Cali today that built these years ago for some race teams out there and would be interested again if he had enough guys that wanted them. I need at least 10 guys that would be interested in this buy to get this going to replace our weak aluminum sub-frames. Please let me know asap so I could get everyone a price and get this order rolling! Thanks  :-D

How much $$$ would these subframes be?
I once heard my buddy Bill ask Danny Hamel after a race....
"How can someone who looks like a high school band tuba player go so d**n fast on a bike?!"

I am still waiting on a price quote. He has the jig and everything he needs to build them except the steel itself. We will probably be looking in the middle to high $2** range... the more people we get interested the cheaper it probably will be. I will ensure everyone that this will probably be the last time he builds these. From what ive heard from other owners that had the chance to snatch one up they are very strong and havent cracked yet. I doubt we will have to worry about them snapping like the stock or aftermarket aluminum ones
