(1/1)

doordie:
Hello friends!

Can you help me out here?

I got a kayaba 46mm frontfork (kx250 2001 0,43kg/m spring)on my old beauty and want to have some info about stock settings.

What?s stock oil-level or airgap?
What?s stock set-up for comp and rebound?
What do you prefer for settings?

Thanks in advance! 8)

Paul:
Oil level is 90 - 120mm

It's the same fork as the 2001 KX500. I don't remember the stock settings though, and I doubt my open desert suspension settings will help much on your ice racer ;)

doordie:
Thx Paul, but It?s not for the iceracer I want settings, it?s Gotland grand national comming up soon and  I want to refined my forksettings to manage to run 3 hours  MX-racetempo.

(Startnumber 1190 ,a lot of racers this year) www.gotlandgrandnational.com

Type: SAE 5W20
Capacity (per fork leg) 492-500 ml   (16.63-16.91 US oz)
Level (fork compressed,spring removed) 88mm. (3.46 in.)
Rebound 12 clicks out frm the fully seated position
Compression 10 clicks out from fully seated position

Front and rear suspension compatibility inspection
Use this procedure to determine if the suspension i balanced reasonably well.
Hold the bike upright
While standing next to the machine, lightly pull the brake lever, place one foot on the footpeg closest to you, and push down hard. If the bike stays level as the suspension is compressed, the spring rates are well balanced.
Sit asride the bike, take a riding posture and check that the machine is in horizontal pos. If one end drops noticeably more than the other, the front and rear are not compatible and must be readjusted to achieve a better balance.
Althoug this is one of the most effective adjustment procedures, suspension settings may vary depending on the conditions at the track and the rider?s preferences.
