hard to get hot

fluffy:
i have a 89 kx500 it runs good but takes forever to get to operating temp. a couple of times i almost had a cold seize.i dont know what the other owner used for a piston,but i guess it doesnt get hot as fast as the cyl. its comming apart shortly,so what should i look for. thanks for any ideas.

Sounds like jetting. What you running

fluffy:
stock jetting, i did change base gasket and head gasket when i first got it. base gasket was torn when i bought the bike. after about 10 min, it gets warm and does run good.
