1st Generation steel KIPS valves

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else has come across a set of steel exhaust valves for pre 89 kx 500's ?
All of the other sets I have ever seen were made of aluminum.
Were these valves a stock item for a certain year? Or are they an aftermarket item?
I am assuming the steel valves would be better in my build although they are at least 3 to 4 times as heavy.
