Count me in Motorrad. I'm willing to spend the $80-$100 just to test out what I've been told. Destry Abbott used to say that this mod made the KX500 much easier to handle in the rocks and other tight areas.

He also told me the first thing they did (besides links) was slap on 23.5mm offset triples
The 24mm I run off the 08 kx450 made a huge difference (but alot of that could be the modern suspension also)

Just curious , do the shorter dogbones give more travel?

I know that my bike and most of the later Ex Team Green KX500s set up for the desert were using a BRP bottom triple (haven't looked into the offset) and a stock upper. Some had BRP uppers as well, but I bet if you checked you are right about complementing the improvement with offset triples.
