1984 KX500 trans input shaft interchangeability

My 18 YR old son recently broke my tranny input shaft in my 84 KX500. This shaft seems hard to find and I wonder if a 85 model shaft will fit? Even though the part numbers are different, every gear on that shaft is the same, but the clutch hub is a different number. I'm looking for possible options to fix this bike and get it back in the dirt, I don't want it to sit in the garage for the rest of its life. If anyone can help me with this I promise not to let the kid ride it again. Thanks.

I have a trans set I'd sell from a newer bike. Maybee we can meaure thigs to confirm they'll fit. I'd also have the clutch parts

the 83 thru 87 trannies are identical, bar some gearing changes on the 85. shafts should be fine.K.
