Never tried Cometic gaskets so I keep my mouth shut as far as opinions. However, I have used dozens of OEM Kawi top end gaskets with excellent results. I do always check the head for warpage. IMO if you have issues with a brand new head gasket, it's not the gasket "quality" or "lack of" that's the problem.

plus 1 on that. I can't keep my mouth shut so.
I only use the thin oem gaskets, (more power) and never had issues. Again I check the head and cyl for straight and square surfaces. There never right and can always use some cleaning up.

the head and cylinder are true its the gasket there is a 6 thousands difference between the metal ring and the rest of the gasket after it was torqued if the head was warped it would only leak in spots mine was POURING out evenly all around the cylinder with no pressure it was never started I'm pretty sure in fact I'm positive it was the gasket and nothing else
