clutch cable and carb boot

runabout:
I did a search on this topic and I am coming up short...
I need the carb boot for the 88 K5 ... I have heard from one source that other year carb boots will fit if I cut the "tabs" off... Can anyone confirm this please?
I also am looking for an 88 clutch cable again not available anymore... will other year cables work?

88-04 is all the same regarding those parts..    Go order new ones for a 2004. And go ride :0)
